8 Extreme Homeless Stories

The man who lived in AOL for 2 months

After completing a four-month incubator program at AOL’s Palo Alto campus, Eric Simons discovered that his badge still worked so he decided to live there. “I couldn’t afford to live anywhere,” Simons recalled. “I startedliving out of AOL’s headquarters.”

For someone with neither money nor an aversion to sleeping on others’ couches, the AOL building had plenty of allure. “They had a gym there with showers,” Simons said. “I’d take a shower after work. I was like – I could totally work here…They have food upstairs, they have every drink on tap. This would be a sweet place to live.” Continue reading

Interesting, Stages Of Sleep

The invention of the electroencephalograph allowed scientists to study sleep in ways that were not previously possible. During the 1950s, a gradate student named Eugene Aserinsky used this tool to discover what is known today as REM sleep. Further studies of human sleep have demonstrated that sleep progresses through a series of stages in which different brain wave patterns are displayed.
There are two main types of sleep:
Non-Rapid Eye Movement (NREM) Sleep (also known asquiet sleep
Rapid Eye Movement (REM) Sleep (also known as active sleep or paradoxical sleep. Continue reading

Oh My God Fact’s , Bruce Lee’s corpse “acted” in his final movie.

On July 20, 1973, Lee had been working on a film called Game of Death. While attending a dinner, he began to have headaches. He took a painkiller that he was allergic to, and died the next morning. At this time, the filming of Game of Death was only partially finished. The movie’s producers decided to use the pieces of the film already shot, and combine them with new footage of other actors.
To explain this, the producers filmed at Bruce Lee’s actual funeral, to write into the story that he faked his death. That way, all of the fill ins would have a logical reason to wear disguises, still maintaining the impression it was the same character. In addition, to make the death credible, they set up a scene with a cardboard cutout of Bruce Lee glued to a mirror. Even crazier, the producers made a SEQUEL starring Bruce Lee, using more unused footage. Continue reading

What should a woman do if she finds herself alone in the company of a strange male

1) What should a woman do if she finds herself alone in the company of a strange male as she prepares to enter a lift in a high-rise apartment late at night?

Experts Say: Enter the lift. If you need to reach the 13th floor, press
all the buttons up to your destination. No one will dare attack you in a lift that stops on every floor.

2) What to do if a stranger tries to attack you when you are alone in your
house, run into the kitchen.

Experts Say: You alone know where the chili powder and turmeric are kept.
And where the knives and plates are. All these can be turned into deadly
weapons. If nothing else, start throwing plates and utensils all over.
Let them break. Scream. Remember that noise is the greatest enemy of a
molester. He does not want to be caught.

never mess with …

A married couple is traveling by car from Victoria to Prince George.

Being seniors, after almost eleven hours on the road, they were too tired to continue and decided to take a room. But, they only planned to sleep for four hours and then get back on the road.

When they checked out four hours later, the desk clerk handed them a bill for $350.00.

The man explodes and demands to know why the charge is so high. He told the clerk although it’s a nice hotel; the rooms certainly aren’t worth $350.00 for four hours. Then the clerk tells him that $350.00 is the ‘standard rate’. He insisted on speaking to the Manager. Continue reading

9 Lessons from 9 Inspiring Quotes I Live By

Today I want to share nine inspiring quotes that changed my life.  I’ve listed them below along with supplementary lessons I’ve learned about each one over the years.  I hope they inspire you just as they have inspired me.

1.  Intuition

“At times you have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.  What you’ll discover will be wonderful.  What you’ll discover is yourself.”  -Alan Alda

Your intuition is a gift.  It is your third eye – a way of seeing with your soul.  Pay attention to what it shows you.  More often than you realize, you have the answers you seek already inside you.  Your unconscious mind is the greatest source of your genius; you just have to pay attention.

Trusting your intuition is trusting your true self, and the more you trust your true self, the more control you have of making your goals and dreams come true.  Read 1,000 Little Things. Continue reading
